Meet the Founder
My name is Soleil Nazar, and I am a 17-year-old senior high school student and founder of The Pimple Pouch. I began working on developing The Pimple Pouch when I was 14, but my passion for creating this non-profit was inspired much earlier when I was 12 and had just started volunteering at The St. Louis Diaper Bank and St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies. While there, I realized the need for diapers and period products, and after dealing with my own personal skin care dilemmas, I wondered how kids my age properly cared for their skin if they didn’t have the means to do so. I also realized the costs involved with proper skin care as well as the impact it has on one’s self-esteem and how that affects a teenager’s day-to-day successes. As a result, I developed The Pimple Pouch, a nonprofit which provides underserved teenagers with basic skin care supplies, which improve self-esteem, reduces social anxiety, and provides preventative skincare essentials such as sunscreen. The Pimple Pouch is a packet of products that are distributed to underserved teenagers throughout the St. Louis community benefiting their long-term health, both physically and mentally.
